The Poetry of Alan Sheppard...
WANT

My love travel's to a foreign land,
As an individual she always makes a stand,
To be with out her always causes me pain,
But in my soul and heart she will always remain,
My passion and love she has fanned.

I hope one day she will wear my gold band,
And throughout our lives hold my hand,
Her tender kisses are all I hope to gain,
I have no intention of my ways to train,
No way would I make any demand.

When I am with her, the feelings are grand,
The feeling I have for her I do not fully understand,
On my conscious she has left an indelible stain,
She is glory with out restrain,
I plead that she doesn't slip from my fingers like sand.
