The Poetry of Alan Sheppard...
NIGHT VISITOR

All I could smell was her intoxicating perfume,
In the darkness of night she had entered my room,
I could not in the darkness make her out,
What was happening, I could always shout,
I heard footsteps as she walked in the gloom.

The darkness was pervasive like entering a tomb,
She climbed on the bed and over me she did loom,
I understood her purpose of that there was now no doubt,
As with her mouth my swelling she did mount,
A lady on a nights adventure was all I could assume.

I was feeling an urgent need to enter her womb,
But as I attempted, it brought about my doom,
She had never intended to this much allow,
This brings me frustration and sorrow, even now,
The moral of this tale being, never presume.
