The Poetry of David Lyne-Gordon...LIFE'S SO BEAUTIFUL
(Dedicated to Miss Julie Rogers, 1st June 1978)
When first our eyes they met in joy,
My life drew warmth from this new ploy.
In days and nights of tense emotion,
I hope you'll believe my true devotion.
Of you almost all the time I think,
Hoping my heart will never sink.
Because I offer not material wealth,
But, Hope, Faith, Love and Good Health.
To you I present the starter's pistol,
And read you have this true epistle.
And have understood its complete content,
Between the lines you'll find its intent.
As I have said but once before,
To you the honour of shouting "fore!'
Before this round of life begins,
To prevent depression from setting in.
And now story is unfolded,
For you the future it is moulded.
In gaiety I await your mention,
Of you good or bad intention.
Believe when I do speak thus,
I honour your word and between us.
Whatever happens no word of its,
Will ever pass between my lips.
And now the time has come to say,
"I'll wait and see if you will stay.
Or go in faithful consideration".
From the one whose presence is life's elaboration.
