END DEDICATION

(31st March 1978)

O, most beautiful being of all,
How much I worshipped and adored thee.
But, like any angel you had to fall,
In my appreciation of thee.

Once you were the only one,
Who could and did inspire me.
And now alas the time has come,
And you have at last betrayed me.

My love did flourish and bloom in light,
But now, grim death beholds me.
My heart will follow in your flight,
And dwell in memories of thee.

Bewildered I hear the sound of your feet,
As does the ebb tide withdraw.
My loving heart will cease to beat,
For in myself I find the flaw.

Your mind's made up, but mine is not,
Life for you holds further victories.
My rusted laurels will fall and rot,
Just as do all life's filigrees.
