The Poetry of David Lyne-Gordon...
DESERTION

(Jan/Feb 1986)

You killed our love; you killed the cat,
Your stubbornness has done all that.
You're not the one I first remember,
So full of feeling and love so tender.

Over the fence you leapt so quickly,
Into the arms of one who's so sickly.
Is the grass greener on the other side ?
If not, why do you continue to hide ?

In and out of his bed like a rabbit,
Hypocrisy is his true habit.
Faith, hope and charity have gone to Hell,
And for I care, you can as well x!
