The Poetry of Geoffrey Benjamin Chew...
ALPHABET STUPE
A for the abacus, almost abandoned;
B is the bishop, stuck fast on the landing,
C for the cockatrice, seen only once;
D on the dunce cap I'm wearing this month.
E was an elephant, big as a bus;
F for the censors, they don't like to cuss.
G is the rating applied to claymation;
H was the house that burned down to foundation.
I be the one who is writing this nonsense;
J, like a jester asleep under sconces.
K is the old king, on horseback in winter;
L was the lake, where he sank, when ice splintered.
M for the monkeys humanity mimics;
N for narcotics, the reason for clinics.
O begins octopus, orange, and orient;
P, for my people, you finding me boring yet?
Q, Quetzlcoatl, and questing equestrians;
R is a red light, protecting pedestrians.
S is for sex, and for simply, and sampling;
T is for tympany, turgid, and trampling.
U is the usual, ordered by proxy;
V was a vixen, a'grounded, quite foxy.
W's weather, it's wonderf'ly wily, while
X marked the spots on my old kitchen tiley;
Y is my youth, which I'm wasting on verse,
Z is for Zed, where it ends, with a hearse.
