I read it in the paper
So I know it must be true
Though it's really not the kind of thing
I thought that you would do
But when a columnist of stature,
Like the guy who wrote this stuff,
Gives us all the whys and wherefores
Well, that's evidence enough.
I know you haven't been convicted -
Not in any court o law -
But the whole world knows you did it
That's what journalism's for.
You can't possibly deny it
Though I guess you're going to
But I read it in the paper
So I know it must be true.
