The Poetry of Bernard Shaw...
NONSENSE
I boarded a bus to visit you.
You were not someone that I knew.
I just thought that it would be nice,
To visit a man that keeps white mice.
Even if you had a kangaroo,
I still would have made a visit to you.
You could have kept crocodiles,
To visit you I would have walked miles.
On my arrival you let me in,
To see the grasshopper that you kept in a tin.
You had no other pets than a cat,
You have overfed it; it is very fat.
In fact you had no exotic animals at all,
I feel really sorry for making a call.
I will I think go back to my own small house,
to comfort myself with my little brown mouse.
No more will I board a bus to visit you,
My wanting to do so came out of the blue.
