About Me....
| My name is C. J. Hicks and I have been painting for a number of years but have just recently begun to show my work. Earlier in my art career I only did pencil sketches, as I did not feel I could paint. One day I picked up and brush and from that point on I was hooked.

My landscapes and seascapes are painted some from visualizations within my mind while others are painted from memories of places I have visited.
My wildlife paintings are a result of carefully studying the animal and trying to catch its nuance and personality. I paint primarily in Oil but have painted some acrylics and earlier on I did quite a few pencil sketches. My first love however is Oil. I love the way it blends together creating beautiful variation of color. As long as I continue to live I hope I never stop painting. When I paint it makes it me feel good just to be able to place color on a canvas.
